I was a victim of seeing the previous installment, Mark of the Devil 666: The Moralist. So I wasn't sure I would like this follow up - a direct sequel to both 666 and the original 1970 film. Same director, same cast - but 25 years later. I was surprised that it was entertaining. Not nearly the same ... amount of gore and torture as previous "sequels" (all retitled foreign films), but it has a fun energy. The general concept is that the director sends up both his own and other camcorder movies from the 1980s and 90s. Part funny, part serious, minorly gory, and two jump scares. There's a chase through the woods that actually builds up some suspense - followed by an event both gross and darkly humorous. The finale, involving a group of dumb Satanists, gets out of control, but in a wild way. I say give a shot. (*You may need to watch the lackluster Part 6 first to understand some of the plot points in this one.)
