This was an okay Christmas movie, slightly better than some of the Hallmark ones they crank out, but not quite as good as the reviews I saw. The scenery was great, of course, the dependable beauty of Yorkshire, England. The story is okay, enough to be getting on with, and I like that the bad guy ... of the story wasn’t evil or anything, just had different plans than the lead. And speaking of leads, my disappointment is that the two main character’s didn’t have any real chemistry together, which is a darn shame for a romance. I mean, not everyone can be Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon in Fever Pitch, but there was no discernible electricity there. The young daughter was entertaining as the resident precocious kid, though I tired a little of her case of adult in a kid’s body syndrome. I wasn’t sure of the Yorkshire accents, but even though Inhave watched hundreds of hours of British tv, I am on the opposite side of the pond, somInwould leave that scrutiny for a Britisher. So it isn’t a terrible movie to wrap gifts or prepare a meal watching, but it is not something I will like ever watch again.
