Kim Torres is a Costa Rican director and screenwriter, recognized as an emerging voice in Latin American cinema. Her short Night Light (2022) was the first Costa Rican film to be nominated for a Palme d'Or at Cannes. Her work has screened at NYFF, Locarno, MoMA, Lincoln Center and the Eye Filmmuseum ... . Her debut feature participated in La Fabrique Cinéma and Cannes Focus Copro. She was a Guest Artist at CalArts (2022), a Berlinale Talents mentee (2023) and an alumna of the Locarno Filmmakers Academy (2024).
