Leya Hale is an American filmmaker and producer from the Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota and Diné Nations born and raised in the Los Angeles area. She studied radio television and film at California State University, Fullerton in Orange County, and earned a graduate degree in American Indian Studies from t ... he University of South Dakota. After earning her degree, she moved to St. Paul, Minessota and began producing documentaries for Twin Cities PBS.
