Prior to working professionally as an actor, Austin trained over a decade as a Martial-Art instructor of Capoeira and BJJ. Austin enlisted in the Marines as an Infantry Rifleman. He would later move to Maryland and continue to serve as an Executive Protection Officer carrying out his duties while maintaining a safe environment during higher echelon town hall meetings, and maintaining protection for undisputed lightweight boxing champion Gervonte Davis and others.
