Veit Helmer is a German film director and producer who began making films as a teenager and later studied directing in Berlin and Munich. He gained recognition through numerous award-winning short films and his feature debut Tuvalu (1999), followed by internationally screened films such as Absurdist ... an and Baikonur. His work is known for its visual storytelling, often using very little dialogue and emphasizing expressive imagery and physical acting.
