Darby Lloyd Rains hailed from a middle-class theatrical family -- her song and dance man father appeared regularly in Broadway musical stage productions -- and started her career in show business as a nightclub singer. Darby made the leap into explicit hardcore movies in the early 1970's as a means ... of earning extra money in order to support her singing career. A very fetching and accomplished actress in 1970's East Coast adult fare, Rains acted in X-rated features for such notable directors as Gerard Damiano, Radley Metzger, Roberta Findlay, Mac Ahlberg, John Amero, Joseph W.
