| Staring: |
| In the fall of 1987, Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. The government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they've faced before. To end this nightmare, they'll need everyone standing together, one last time. | |

It felt rushed, too much plot convenience and many characters fall flat. This season made it loud and clear that The Duffer Brothers lost interest and wanted to move on. Two seasons worth of build-up for a battle that is spectacular but ends way too quickly and easily. Massive character moments that ... fall flat because they have been sidelined the whole season for side characters. A final that spends half of the runtime on the epilogue, which is brilliant but could have been shortened or given its own episode. The only reason I gave it such a high rating is that the highs are the best of the season. The answers and the epilogue do offer a satisfying conclusion to a 10-year-long story. It could have been better, but it could have been a lot worse.
