John Bentley is the super sleuth in this rather pedestrian tale of the aristocratic "Rolly" who is trying to track down a missing person and en route encounters murder and mischief. It moves along quickly and Roddy Hughes is standout as the butler "Jolly' who is as perfectly adept at throwing right ... hooks as he is at making tea; and he has quite a funny turn of phrase too. It's in a similar vein to Charteris' "The Saint" without quite the same degree of charm and sophistication.
