**_A teen locks a monster in the shed in Upstate New York_** This 2019 indie horror combines elements of iconic movies, such as holding up in a farm house à la “Night of the Living Dead,” a teen or two who look like they walked off the set of “The Warriors,” the bullied kid of “Christine” and the ... nasty vampirism of “Fright Night. The filmmaking is proficient, and Jay Jay Warren works well as the protagonist with Sofia Happonen delectable in her unique way on the feminine front. Unfortunately, there’s some filler and the proceedings come across as one dimensional and empty. Still, it’s entertaining enough in a throwaway sense. For an indie with a similar set-up that’s more imaginative, see “The Unhealer,” which came out the following year. It runs 1 hour, 37 minutes, and was shot in north-central New York in Manlius (grandpa’s house) and East Syracuse (the high school). Both are located about 30 miles northeast of the easternmost Finger Lake, Otisco Lake. GRADE: C+/B-
