Born in India and raised in the U.S., George Hull started his creative path with a BFA Degree in Industrial Design. Growing up in a small midwest town, a career in the film industry seemed impossible—a "ridiculous" pursuit he was told by his instructors. But George's dreams for film design became re ... ality when Lucasfilm's prestigious visual effects company, Industrial Light & Magic, noticed his talent and offered him a position on their creative team, just out of school. At ILM, George's earliest credit was Oscar winner Forrest Gump. He then quickly climbed to be a lead Visual Effects Art Director, working on films like Mission Impossible, Jurassic Park 2, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi special editions. After 6 years at ILM, George left to form George Hull Design. As an independent, he is always pursuing the most creative stage of a film's visual development. As one of Hollywood's leading conceptual designers, George specialises in creating unique and imaginative worlds, including the cinematography, settings, and vehicles that live within them. Recently George worked as a Senior Conceptual Designer on the highly acclaimed Dune as well as Blade Runner 2049, Star Wars IIV, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, The Cloud Atlas, V for Vendetta, the science fiction epic The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions and The Matrix Resurrections, and The Batman and Thor: Love & Thunder.
