FULL SPOILER-FREE REVIEW @ https://movieswetextedabout.com/g20-review-when-action-fails-to-save-a-flawed-narrative/ "G20 is a colossal failure in every department, except for the cast, led by dedicated actors like Viola Davis and Antony Starr. Patricia Riggen tries to deliver a message of just ... ice and empowerment but ultimately offers an empty, unapologetically formulaic, and shockingly incoherent story. The often incomprehensible action, the glaring lack of thematic development, and the sloppy handling of sensitive real-world issues make this superficial exercise one of the worst films of the year. A generic thriller that, even while attempting to emulate past classics, falls far short..." Rating: D
As satire "G20" could have been quite entertaining. Regrettably, rather than writing an action satire, that lightheartedly lampooned the modern woke obsession with girl bosses and exposition ridden, female empowerment fantasies, they tried to play this flick straight faced. The result is absu ... rd and at times, accidentally funny. A problem made worse, by inexplicable, casting choices. The lead being a case in question. In summary, with a story this ridiculous, its impossible to take "G20" seriously, as an action film. One to steer clear of, unless you like unintentional satire.
