Details

South African enfant terrible filmmaker and artiste-cineaste Manus Oosthuizen meets with Rotten Tomatoes-approved indie film critic Babette Cruickshank in an Echo Park sound studio. With key members of Manus's crew joining, they record an audio commentary track for his new elegiac feature documentary Razzennest. But the session goes down a different path... cazzart! The ultimate elevation of arthouse horror, just not as you might expect.

A unique film, if you want to call it that. It's most definitely the only one of its kind I've seen to date. Calling it a film is probably not quite true to this work, though. It's more like a radio play with an animated slide-show, if you will. The images underline the events in the play, thoug ... h most of the impressions are not directly related to the content. If you expect jump-scares or fast paced thrills this definitely isn't for you; but I rather enjoyed it, the imagery, the ideas behind it, the dialogue, the execution - all to the point and haunting (once it gets to the point - in the beginning it's a piss-take of just about anything). Sharp wit, cringe, hybris, lies, ... and horror. You name it - and all expressed with voices and sounds.
